1. Generate Wallet Recovery Phrase

First you need to generate the Recovery Phrase (also known as Mnemonic) for your Wallet.

This is your Recovery Phrase:

This set of words above allows you to recover your wallet.
Without it, you will not be able to access your wallet. These are the keys to accessing your Particl coins. Write these down, store them somewhere safe and do not share these with anyone.

2. Securing your wallet

If someone finds your Recovery Phrase above then they will be able to access all of your coins. You can optionally create a Passphrase to prevent unauthorized access in the case someone finds a copy of your Recovery Phrase above.

If you enter a passphrase here then you will also need it to access your wallet in the future. Do not forget or lose this passphrase.

3. Your Public Key

This is the public key to the Genesis Import Account in your newly created Particl Wallet. The Particl Portal will require this information under "Enter your Public Key".

You do not need to store this information once you have entered it into the Particl Portal.

4. Your Address

This is the first address in your newly created Genesis Import Account. This is also required by the Particl Portal under "Enter your first address" – Particl Portal will use this address as a sanity check to ensure you have entered the correct Public Key.

You do not need to store this information once you have entered it into the Particl Portal.

5. That's it!

That was all. You're now a proud owner of:

  • a brand new Particl Wallet ready to receive your Particl tokens
  • a Public Key that will be used to send your Particl tokens to
  • a Recovery Phrase so that you can access your new Wallet (once the main net is live) and in the future in case you need to restore access to your Wallet
  • and ideally a Passphrase to secure your Recovery Phrase

Please remember to have safely written down or printed:

  • the Recovery Phrase
  • the optional Passphrase

If you forgot something, now is a good time to go back and save all the important information. If you think you made a mistake somewhere, don't worry – you can start over as many times as you want.
